For about 20 years I have had lunch with my friend Janna on Tuesday. I think this is the longest we have ever gone without meeting. I can't wait to see her today and there are many adventures to share.
My mind has been going back to moments with the boys. Those long walks were full of ideas. I think they will always remember the "bee tree". A very large, very beautiful tree that buzzed with bees. As soon as we got near it they would start shushing, walk on tippy toes, and all scrunched down so as not to disturb the bees. We walked under that tree many times and never had a problem. Here's some photos of the "bee tree"
The tree grew up wrapped around a telephone pole and now reaches above the lines. Actually, I'm not sure it is even a tree, but I love it. I collected many fallen blooms to put in my journal. My son-in-law thought it might be some kind of honeysuckle. I don't care.
It is our "bee tree."
Do you have a "bee tree" memory in your life?
Wow! That is beautiful! and a great memory too!
ReplyDeleteThat is a spectacular tree! So pretty! I did have a "bee shrub". It was at our bus stop when I was in 5th grade. It was filled with what we called "H" bees. They had an "H" on their back rather than stripes. We would catch them in our hands and they wouldn't sting us.
ReplyDeleteThanks Everyone. Today Jessica told me the boys get excited every time they see the "bee tree."
ReplyDeletebeautifull tree!
ReplyDeleteThe "bee tree" is actually a trumpet vine. Can't say I've ever seen one that massive though. It's very pretty.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jan, for identifying our "tree." I did think it was a vine after I studied it a bit but it will forever be our "bee tree." It's nice to know what it is though. I may just have to do a google search.
